Rolfing has returned to Salmon Arm!
Rolfing® Structural Integration has continued to develop over the years and provides an excellent mode of body work to keep you functioning at your best. Many of us have had Rolfing treatment in the past or heard from friends, oh that was painful or really deep muscle work…we invite you to rediscover Rolfing Structural Integration and experience how it has evolved over the years.
What to Expect
Individual sessions with Rennan Bankowski, Certified Rolfer, begin with a body reading assessment, hands-on soft-tissue manipulation, and can include simple movement education. Allow 75-90mins for your appointments, as length can vary depending on the session and the client.
During body reading, they’ll be observing how your body maintains balance while standing, sitting, walking and moving. Your comfort is our top priority. To ensure we gather the most accurate information, we recommend wearing comfortable undergarments or athletic wear—such as running shorts and a sports bra—so we can clearly see and evaluate your body’s unique patterns and movements.
A Rolfer’s main tool is touch. Hands-on techniques focus on the fascial network and other connective tissue, such as muscles, ligaments, tendons, and bones. A session may also include simple guided movement, breath, or visualization work: tuning into the body in these ways allows us to be present with sensation, perception, emotion and our inner resources. Rolfing offers a wide range of manual techniques, so what that touch looks and feels like can vary depending on what works best for you. Clients are encouraged to ask questions, and express experiences they want to share with their Rolfer while the work is taking place. While some sensations during the work may feel intense, they should always feel purposeful and beneficial- you should not have to experience any pain, but there may be some discomfort. The Rolfer and client work together to support the client’s structural goals.
After a Rolfing session, people may have a range of responses. It’s often helpful to leave some time afterwards for rest or self-care. Some clients may feel mild soreness similar to post-exercise stiffness, others may feel relaxed and ready for a nap, while some feel refreshed and energized.
The TEN SERIES
The Rolfing® Ten Series is a structured sequence of sessions designed to realign and balance the body within the pull of gravity. Typically completed over 10 sessions 1-2 weeks apart, each session builds on the last to address the whole body—improving posture, movement, and overall function. While some clients benefit from fewer sessions, the full Ten Series provides the most complete and lasting transformation.
The Ten Series is divided into three distinct phases:
Sleeve Sessions (1–3)
Focus on releasing tension in the outer, more superficial layers of connective tissue. These sessions help improve breathing, create a stable foundation through the feet and legs, and begin organizing the body in gravity.
Core Sessions (4–7):
Work deeper into the body’s central line—from the inner legs and pelvis through the spine to the neck and head. This phase addresses deep postural support and brings awareness to how the core supports movement and alignment.
Integration Sessions (8–10):
Emphasize coordinating and integrating changes made throughout the series. Each session is tailored to the individual, aiming to unify movement patterns and bring a sense of balance, ease, and flow throughout the body.
The Ten Series offers the most complete opportunity to realign the body. By systematically working through fascial layers and restoring balance between parts as a whole, together we can integrate lasting, whole-body change to support your long-term health.
