B.C. Registered Acupuncturist

Melanie is a Registered Acupuncturist (R.Ac) who brings a holistic approach to her patient care. She uses modalities of acupuncture, cupping, gua sha, and moxibustion with a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) diagnosis to address the root cause of your concerns. Melanie knows the power of food as medicine, and in TCM, every food and herb has a nature, flavor, and organ system/meridian associated with it – that is why you may also receive food recommendations that are tailored to your condition and constitution. Gentle lifestyle suggestions and referrals to other health care providers may also be part of your treatment plan.

Melanie has experience working with sports injuries and athletic performance. Her own experience as a competitive athlete has shown her how the drive to be active and perform at our best while dealing with pain, injury or concussion can be an incredibly frustrating process. Her background leading group fitness has given her extensive experience with anatomy and functional movement, and her goal is to take her time to understand your concerns and get you moving at your best again by addressing both the physical and emotional facets of movement and performance.

Melanie is also passionate about women’s health issues. She works with fertility-related imbalances, hormonal health concerns, skin issues, digestion problems, and has experience treating insomnia, depression/anxiety, and other emotional issues. You will experience a detailed initial consultation and together will come up with a supportive holistic treatment plan.

Melanie’s own journey with Acupuncture inspired her to reroute her career working in professional sports sponsorship to one that would allow her to support others in their healing journey. Melanie holds a Diploma of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Acupuncture, and a Bachelor of Commerce Degree. In her spare time, she enjoys all types of fitness activities, hiking, traveling, skiing, and spending time with her friends and family. Melanie was born and raised in the British Columbia Interior, and even spent a year living in Salmon Arm as a teenager. She spent the last 10 years in Vancouver and has relocated to Salmon Arm to start the next chapter of her life in a smaller community close to nature and her family.
